I don’t watch a lot of television, but when I do it’s mostly HBO shows. For those living outside of the US: HBO is an American cable television network which produces some of the best series on TV. It’s almost like the Criterion Collection of TV shows in terms of quality. If you’re anything like me however regardless of all the hype surrounding a show you might need a little bit of convincing to start watching it. Review: Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) Finally Puts Joel & Ethan Coen’s Cold Filmmaking to Good Use
Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) is a young folk singer living pretty much with anyone who owns a couch in Greenwich Village. The year is 1961 and record labels and executives are beginning to think that maybe folk music isn’t so hot anymore. Meanwhile poor Davis is freezing his butt off, wandering around the gelid streets of New York with (Academy Award Nominee ®) Ulysses, a red cat. He’s broke, his “ex”, Jean (Carey Mulligan) is pregnant, his dad isn’t talking to him and did I mention how cold it is?
