Watch: Harmony Korine Directs Dior Addict Ad

maxresdefault2
“I got Escape! Calvin Klein Escape! Mix it up with Calvin Klein Be. Smell nice? I smell nice!” That’s a line from Aliens’ (James Franco) monologue in Harmony Korine‘s Spring Breakers, where he shows the girls all of his stuff (or shit). Who would have thought that the director of films which are mostly about white trash characters like Gummo (1997), Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) or Trash Humpers (2009) would go on to direct an ad for Christian Dior, one of the top French fashion houses? Certainly not me, but it works. Take a look!

First Look at Sofia Coppola in Marc Jacobs’ Final Louis Vuitton Ad Campaign

???????????????????????????????
Time to say goodbye to Marc Jacobs. Back in October (2013) the iconic fashion designer announced the end of his longtime collaboration with French fashion brand Louis Vuitton. Now, we are getting a first glimpse at the last thing he worked on before leaving the luxury brand to focus on his own label. The protagonists of Jacobs’ last campaign are no small names themselves. Among the designer’s muses are actress and historical Louis Vuitton testimonial Catherine Deneuve, Chinese actress and singer Fan Bingbing, supermodels Gisele BundchenCaroline de Maigret and Edie Campbell and a personal favorite of mine: Writer, director and bag designer extraordinaire Sofia CoppolaContinue reading

Check Out: Elle Fanning in Rodrigo Prieto’s Short Film LIKENESS

Who’s Rodrigo Prieto
You might ask. Valid question. I had no idea either. He’s a cinematographer. He has worked with some of the hottest directors on some of the hottest pictures: Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Amores Perros, Ang Lee’s Lust, Caution, Pedro Almodóvar’s Broken Embraces, Oliver Stone’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Cameron Crowe’s We Bought a Zoo and the upcoming Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street (to name a few). Quite the résumé. I’m stunned his name didn’t stuck with me, because looking at his filmography, those are all beautiful looking films. After such impressive collaborations it looks like he’s ready to direct a something of his own.  Continue reading

Blog of the Year Award 2013 Nomination

Blog of the Year Award 1 star jpeg

This is incredible! Once again I’m very humbled to announce that this very blog has been nominated for the Blog of the Year Award 2013. I’m even more stoked that once more it’s my blogger amigo Thomas J. Ford of Music & Movies Cafe who nominated me. If you recall he nominated me my very first award ever, The Sunshine Award, not so long ago. This time, since there are no rules against it (that I know of) I’m going to nominate him as well and not just because he thought of me twice, but because I actually truly enjoy reading his blog and he seems like a really nice guy. He’s currently on a Christmas movie marathon. God bless you, Tom!  Continue reading

Gorgeous New Sofia Coppola Bag by Louis Vuitton

Allow me a bit of self-indulgent advertising for something I’m not getting paid for. These are the windows of Le Bon Marché, Rive Gauche (Paris) showcasing the new Louis Vuitton bag designed by American filmmaker Sofia Coppola. Feast your eyes on the joyously dazzling, girly, colorful displays and Oh! Wait? Is that Miranda Kerr? That means she’s out of town. Where does she live? I wanna rob.

Let’s go shopping!

J’adore Sofia

To me Sofia Coppola is not just one of the most talented directors of all time: She’s also a truly beautiful young woman.

It’s her alluring bourgeois charm. Her natural beauty and calm, yet magnetic presence. Her sophisticated style and sweet, vulnerable, always immaculate look. Her playfulness and lightness and poise. Everything about her is just simply fascinating.

These are my ten favorite pictures of her.
