Blog of the Year Award 2013 Nomination

This is incredible! Once again I’m very humbled to announce that this very blog has been nominated for the Blog of the Year Award 2013. I’m even more stoked that once more it’s my blogger amigo Thomas J. Ford of Music & Movies Cafe who nominated me. If you recall he nominated me my very first award ever, The Sunshine Award, not so long ago. This time, since there are no rules against it (that I know of) I’m going to nominate him as well and not just because he thought of me twice, but because I actually truly enjoy reading his blog and he seems like a really nice guy. He’s currently on a Christmas movie marathon. God bless you, Tom!

The only Christmas movie I genuinely love is Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life. Everything else I’m just too cynical to appreciate, I guess. Now then, let’s get down to business and see who we can nominate. I’ll try not to repeat myself and give shout-outs to other blogs that I haven’t mentioned when I accepted The Sunshine Award. Unfortunately, I can’t nominate everyone and there are just so many great blogs out there, but there will be other awards and occasion to mention you guys. Music & Movies Cafe
My buddy Thomas J. Ford’s blog about, you’ve guessed it, music and movies. A lot of great recommendations in both camps. Even though I’m a film buff myself, he still puts movies on my radar that I wouldn’t know of otherwise or wouldn’t consider watching. Not being as well versed in the music department, it’s also an opportunity for me to actually learn something.

Cindybi
I like Cindybi’s blog, because she puts a little bit of herself in every post. Her blog’s tagline is Fashion, baking, & DC living and I guess that’s the best way to describe it. Often times I find myself staring at pictures of delicious meals, usually right about when it’s lunch time. It’s torture sometimes, but so sweet.

The Citizens of Fashion
A great blog about everything that is beauty, fashion and design. I get tons of inspiration from the beautiful pictures they post daily and it’s very relaxing, because there’s usually not much to read. They’re also doing some good social work by discouraging anorexic models and supporting a more sustainable and healthy figure. Much respect.

Sophie Sabina Creations
This blog is all about art, because it belongs to an artist. She’s very talented too, at least from what I can tell. I’m no expert on the subject, but just from what I perceive when I look at her creations I can tell that I like them. If you’re into paintings, drawings and photography, be sure to follow this blog for your visual pleasure.

A Stairway To Fashion
As someone who wants to get more into fashion and keep up with trends I discovered this blog and it helps quite a bit. While it’s mostly about women fashion there are still a lot of pretty pictures to look at and some great gift ideas. I also discovered all kinds of new brand names, aside from those known to the mainstream.

So those are the five blogs I chose to nominate. They’re well worth your time. I hope you like them as much as I do. I don’t like to reflect on my work as a blogger publicly, to not come off as self-indulgent, but this award is kind of a good excuse to do that. In that spirit, and because Christmas is around the corner, allow me to get corny and uber-cheesy. I’d like to thank all of my readers. If you’ve ever commented, shared an article or liked my Facebook page this award is dedicated to you. It’s fun to write only if you have someone who reads your stuff and kind of cares about what you think of a certain film or that gets to see a masterpiece for the first time, because they’ve heard of it hear. That’s what makes my wasted words worthwhile.
